Hi, I’m Matt Woollett.
I’ve spent 25 years in IT and the last 15 leading technology in healthcare, diagnostics, MedTech and other regulated environments. ClearHorizon IT is how I now do that work — on an interim or advisory basis, for organisations who need a senior pair of hands rather than another strategy document.
Previously inside the NHS, Sysmex (diagnostics), Mirus IT Solutions (managed services), and a mix of education, fintech and MedTech work — typically where technology, compliance and operations all need to be held together at once.
I usually get a call when the technology picture has become hard to read — competing priorities, supplier noise, a stalled programme, or a board that needs a plain-English view it can actually act on. The job is to make that situation easier to understand and easier to move forward.
I’m a people-first leader. I’ll listen before I prescribe, I’ll explain things in plain English, and I’ll be honest if I don’t think you need me. Teams generally find I’m calm under pressure and easy to work alongside.
I’m as comfortable sitting in a board meeting as I am in a server room or with a delivery team. I’ll challenge where it’s useful, stay out of the way where it isn’t, and try to make sure technology choices are right first time and properly adopted.
My starting point is always to understand the real problem before recommending anything. Once that’s clear, the path forward is usually a lot simpler than it first appears.
